Why Blossom Exists
I was a victim of molestation and rape at an early age. It started to affect me when it came to my relationship as well as my career. One day, I met a student that had a panic attack during class because she was triggered by the topic of rape. I was the first responder and helping her calm down and see myself through her was an experience that was life-changing. While there, she asked me if could I help her get through her triggers. She was the push to get this group started and confirm to me that I could help other survivors get through life.

"We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel.
The first benefit
Peer Support: Through support groups, individuals can connect with others in similar circumstances and share experiences, strategies, and tips. This can provide participants with a sense of community and solidarity.
3 Benefits
of support groups
The second benefit
Emotional Release: In support groups, people have a safe space to discuss difficult emotions and gain insight into feelings or experiences they may have been dealing with on their own.
And the third benefit
Sense of Hope: Support groups can provide individuals with a sense of hope and purpose, as they are surrounded by peers who are working towards similar goals and overcoming similar struggles. Support groups can also provide reassurance and boost participant’s morale
the peer support distinction
Support groups provide a safe place for individuals to express similar experiences, challenges, and emotions in order to gain helpful insight, real-time feedback, and support from members of the group. Unlike counseling, support groups are typically led by fellow members of the group and are often more casual, with individuals having the freedom to openly share their stories at their own pace and discretion. In that way, it is often seen as a more collaborative approach than traditional one-on-one counseling.
